PETERBOROUGH'S Benjamin Basso finished agonisingly close to a medal position in the SGP2 (World Under-21) series following Friday's finale in Poland.
Basso went out in the semi-finals at Torun and collected 12 points from the meeting, which ultimately proved not enough to hold on to the third place overall he had gone into the meeting with.
Outgoing champion Jakub Miskowiak won the meeting to finish on 38 points whilst Basso ended on 37 along with Wiktor Lampart who was the star of the meeting but finished runner-up in a re-started Final.
Mateuez Cierniak was crowned champion and finished third on the night, with Jan Kvech also missing out on the Final but doing enough for runners-up spot overall.
