ULRICH SEALS PANTHERS RETURN

Thursday March 11, 2021
ULRICH Ostergaard’s wait for confirmation of his Peterborough return is finally over.

The popular Panthers racer is included in the 2021 team with the new season expected to start on May 17.

And he’s revealed how he got some laps in back home in Denmark at Fjelsted on Saturday to dust off the cobwebs.

He said: “I’ve been out on the bike at the weekend for the first time this year and it felt good. I was a little rusty at first but I soon got going and all went well.

“Being back with both Peterborough is a huge boost for me. They are a great club and let’s hope we can have a really good season. That’s the plan.”

He joins fellow Danes Bjarne Pedersen, Michael Palm Toft and Hans Andersen in the side along with British duo Chris Harris and youngster Jordan Palin.

“I’m really pleased to be back with Peterborough,” he said. “Everyone knows it’s a club close to my heart. I have a lot of good friends and sponsors around the area and it’s become my second home.

“The side looks good and one that will hopefully challenge for honours come the end of the season. I think everyone is just desperate to get things back to normal now and get the season started.

“I’m seeing more people are getting the vaccine so hopefully in May we should be in a much better position to go racing.”

Panthers have four straight away meetings to start the season before the visit of King’s Lynn to the Showground on Monday June 7.

However, club bosses are working on rearranging fixtures which were due before the May 17 date which Boris Johnson announced as the first night for spectators to enter venues.
