PETERBOROUGH racer Charles Wright is counting down to the biggest meeting of his life - but first he has club business.

Panthers face Wolverhampton at the Showground in their final meeting of a tough season on Tuesday.

And Wright insists he’ll be up for it - despite knowing he’ll be riding in front of 40,000 fans four days later in the Adrian Flux FIM Speedway Grand Prix at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

He qualified by winning the British Championship at his local track Belle Vue in July.

And he says he understands the frustration felt by Crendon Panthers fans after a hard first season back in the Premiership which saw no home meeting in August.

He said: “I can understand how people are feeling in terms of how tough it’s been and things can only be better next season.

“It’s been strange. You normally have one away and then one at home.

“Hans is back and that’s great, he’s a big character for the team and it’s nice to have him back. When we lost him and Brad it was a big blow to the team and we just had to get on with things the best we could but it wasn’t easy.

“Hopefully we can have a good one on Tuesday to finish the season and hopefully there’ll be lots of Peterborough fans heading to Cardiff.”
