THERE will be a change to race-night presentation this season – as legendary Panthers announcer Edwin Overland has stood down from his role.
Edwin is quite rightly regarded as the ‘voice of speedway’ at the East of England Arena, with four decades of service to the club, along with his superb work on the radio for BBC Cambridgeshire.
He has also achieved the notable feat of being track announcer for both Peterborough and King’s Lynn and commanding respect from all supporters despite the club rivalry!
Unfortunately, Edwin needs to focus on his own health, and this means he will be unable to attend meetings as frequently – although we very much hope to see him at the East of England Arena this season.
We’d like to place on record our sincere thanks to Edwin for his outstanding contribution to speedway in general and Panthers in particular.
We are also most grateful to Kevin Moore for agreeing to step into the announcer’s chair, teaming up with our regular presenter Craig Saul.
And we’re also pleased to welcome a new face and voice, Chloe Patterson, who will be joining Craig in the presentation role as we look to increase our crowd interaction this season. Please give her a warm welcome tonight!
