PETERBOROUGH bosses have thanked the club’s fans for their great support in Monday night’s televised clash with Wolverhampton.
Crendon Panthers charged up to second place in the Premiership table with a 51-39 win over the Wolves – in a meeting which featured some tremendous action involving riders from both teams.
It meant the club’s first Eurosport live fixture was a huge success with supporters very much playing their part in generating the atmosphere on a perfect night for racing.
And with Panthers now having won their last three matches the feel-good factor is returning to the East of England Arena as Rob Lyon’s side look set to mount a serious play-off challenge this summer.
Club administrator Dale Allitt said: “I hope all the supporters enjoyed the meeting as much as we did.
“There was some great racing in front of the television cameras, showing Peterborough really is one of the best race-tracks in the UK.
“Special mention as well to all the track staff, who overcame a few problems on the day when the water bowser decided to give up at 1.30pm.
“Thankfully again it was a great effort to get that problem sorted and produce the race strip that allowed us to showcase the riders’ talents and produce some speedway out of the top drawer!”
Panthers have the chance to extend their winning run when they host Ipswich back at the East of England Arena next Monday (June 21). Tickets are available from the link on Peterborough-speedway.com .
PETERBOROUGH Speedway are delighted to be supported by Crendon Timber Engineering as main team sponsors and City Auction Group as club sponsors.
