MORE CELEBRATION FOR PANTHERS

PETERBOROUGH owner Keith Chapman is celebrating another boost for the club ahead of what he believes will be an unpredictable season.

Club sponsors City Auction Group are back on board after seeing their first season of backing the Alwalton side wiped out by the pandemic.

Their CEO is lifelong Panthers fan Michael Tomalin who has also supported Peterborough City FC and individual riders.

He is also a devoted Posh fan and celebrated like everyone else following their stunning comeback to seal promotion to the Championship.

“It’s been an amazing week and I’m proud to be a Peterborough sports fan,” he said. “What Posh did was remarkable and I can’t wait to get back and see them next season.

“I love speedway. It’s a wonderful spectacle and we need more people to come along and see it, for the entertainment package it is it deserves more support.

“I’m here to help, I’m fully behind club owner Keith Chapman and manager Rob Lyon and I cannot wait to see the bikes blasting around one of the best tracks in the country.

“City Auction Group are proud to have a presence on the team suits and we are proud to be associated with such a famous club.”

Chapman said: “City Auction Group came on board for the season that never was last year and he’s with us again. It’s tremendous news and we cannot thank all our sponsors enough.

“Michael spends a lot of time in Belfast but commutes across to Rockingham for vehicle auctions and he is aiming to be at Peterborough home meetings at every opportunity.

“It will be interesting to see how the season works out, in many ways it could be unpredictable because we don’t know how everything will go until we open the doors for the first time. It’s brilliant for us to have support from City Auction Group and our friends at Crendon.”

Meanwhile Panthers are set to launch ticket sales for the new season next Tuesday, May 11.

All meetings for the time being are set to be all-ticket to satisfy the restricted numbers which the club will need to work on.

The first home meeting is on Monday May 24 when they face Premiership newcomers Sheffield.

That comes after their first away meeting on Thursday May 20 at Sheffield who are hotly tipped as title contenders going into the season.
