PETERBOROUGH will be in action on the opening night of the new Premiership season.
Rob Lyon’s men will make the journey to Ipswich on Monday May 3 in what promises to be an exciting night of racing.
The opening home meeting will be on Monday May 10 with the visit of Belle Vue which is always an entertaining fixture.
Eurosport will also launch their coverage in May with 18 broadcasts planned across the season. The TV dates will be announced closer to the start.
Clubs are currently in the process of piecing together their team plans with young British riders ready to get their chance under a new grading scheme for rising stars.
It can also be confirmed that the prestigious British Final will take place at Belle Vue on Monday August 16.
New signing Bjarne Pedersen is delighted to see promoters making plans for May.
“It’s great to see the fixtures, Ipswich will be difficult but I’m looking forward to my Peterborough debut,” he said.
“I’m particularly excited about the Belle Vue meeting for my home debut on a track I love on May 10. I can’t wait to show the Peterborough fans what I can do.”
British Speedway Promoters Ltd Board member Chris Louis is excited by the plans.
He said: “When you see a fixture list then it starts to become real. We are delighted to be working closely with Eurosport at the start of an exciting new era for the sport in this country.
“The reaction to the rising star scheme has been extremely positive and the way the Premiership is shaping up it promises to be extremely competitive.”
