PETERBOROUGH favourite Bradley Wilson-Dean is one man who is pleased with no racing so far this season.
Kiwi racer Wilson-Dean was forced to pull out of the Crendon Panthers team on the eve of the season after complications with his shoulder surgery.
But he’s well on the way to recovery and will be fit for the start of next season.
With three months of this season already wiped out and no prospect of racing until August, he claims it’s done him a favour.
“This lockdown is doing me a favour in a way as nobody has been able ride so I’m not really missing anything in Europe speedway-wise,” he said. “It’s tough being at home not being able to go out and ride but New Zealand went on a strict lockdown weeks ago now where nobody could do anything including allowing visitors into the country and it seems to have worked.
“We will be allowed to get back to some sort of normality in a couple of weeks which will be great news for everyone.”
Club bosses are continuing to wait for a further update on whether the Crendon Panthers can start their season in August.
Boss Rob Lyon is in regular contact with the riders and the club have confirmed they will only go ahead when it is safe and legal to do so.
The Adrian Flux FIM British Grand Prix has been cancelled next month but the 2021 date has already been rubber stamped for July 17.
