HOT SCOTT FACES ENGINE CALL

Saturday April 18, 2020
SCOTT Nicholls has revealed how he will need to make a decision over which engine to use at Peterborough – when the season starts.

Popular Panther Nicholls, a late addition to the 2020 side, was one of four riders who went through their paces at the practice session a month ago – just before the UK was put into lockdown to restrict the coronavirus.

“It was good to have a skid last month at Peterborough’s Press and Practice even though only four of the team could do it,” he said.

“I tested a few new set-ups out and had a good time on the Godden engine I have used in the past.

“It certainly has given me food for thought on what I’m going to use engine wise this season when we can get started.

“You have to have plenty of horsepower around the Peterborough track like you do on most of the tracks in this league so I have a few decisions to make.”

Nicholls is keen to get racing as soon as possible once current government restrictions are lifted.

“This whole situation we are in right now with coronavirus is a worry for everyone but hopefully we can go racing sooner rather than later.

“It’s been a long winter and I like most of the other riders just want to race our bikes but the sport has to follow the government rules and the important thing is that everyone stays safe and does the right thing.”

Peterborough are pressing ahead with their hugely popular 2020 souvenir programme – despite no racing.

Editors Steve and Sarah Miles have started work on issue 3 which will include a retro cover, an in-depth interview with Aussie ace Rohan Tungate, columns from boss Rob Lyon and co-promoter Carl Johnson and columns from the top writers in the sport.

Out on Monday April 27 it will be available to order from this Monday at curtis-sport.com where issues 1 and 2 are also in stock and available to order to complete the collection.

PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY are delighted to be supported by Crendon Timber Engineering as main team sponsors and City Auction Group as club sponsors.
